Welcome to the Black Health Empowerment Project (BHEP). The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation is delighted to inform you of our free, informative, and downright fun obesity awareness program now in its third year. BHEP is a community health tour traveling the country to encourage African American families to “Eat, Move and Test for Health.” The 2008 tour is sponsored by AstraZeneca and UnitedHealth Group.

We invite you to explore our Web pages, and then make the decision to improve your individual, family, and ultimately community’s health by registering for a free BHEP event in or near your city. A day of useful health tips, free screenings, and interactive activities await you and your family, including:

• Upbeat health sessions that are a treat for the mind, body, and spirit

• A Health & Fitness Expo that saves time and money by serving as a “one-stop shop” for important tests and information valued at hundreds of dollars

• An “Ask the Experts” Zone that puts attendees face-to-face with knowledgeable health professionals - You’ve got questions; they’ve got answers

• A Children’s Activity Zone

• A Community Fitness Games Competition

• Great giveaways, entertainment, and much more

Black Health Empowerment Project events are free and open to the public. Join us for a memorable experience that shows you how tasty, enjoyable, and accessible good health can be. Come ready to move and learn!
