HBCU Mini-grant Application - Anti-Smoking Education Initiative
The purpose of the Anti-Smoking Education Initiative is to encourage student
activism and peer-education at Historically Black Colleges and Universities
(HBCU) through anti-tobacco and smoking advocacy. Ten $20,000 mini-grants
will be awarded to HBCUs who meet the criteria. Schools are encouraged
to leverage current activities, events or classes already established
at these institutions. Coalition building is also encouraged.
All projects must begin Fall Semester 2006 (August/September) – end
March 2007
Who May Apply?
Student organizations, associations, clubs, departments (example- School
of Health, School of Business, School or Communications, etc), or specific
classes located at Historically Black Colleges or Universities (2-year
or 4-year schools), unfortunately schools located in non-MSA States (Master
Settlement Agreement) -- Florida, Texas, Mississippi and Minnesota-- are
not eligible. All submissions must have an on-campus faculty or administrator
primary contact.
Notification of interest via email is required by March
15, 2006
Please complete the below form by COB March 15, 2006 stating your
intentions of applying for the CBC Foundation
Anti-Smoking Education Initiative mini grant:
Proposal submission deadline: April 12, 2006
Applicants must submit one original and three bound copies of the proposal.
The grant proposal must have left and right margins of no less than one
inch, use fonts no smaller than 11-points and single spaced (no more than
10 pages, not including budget and letter(s) of support).
