CBCF Inc. Hosts Ceremonial Swearing-In for Congressional Black Caucus

CBCF hosted a time honored tradition in the realm of African-American politics with its ceremonial swearing-in for the 43 members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) on January 5, 2011 in the U.S. Capitol Visitors Center. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver of Missouri took the gavel as the 22nd CBC chair, following Rep. Barbara Lee of California. CBCF 2009 Performing Arts Scholarship Recipient Evette Jones sang the national anthem and “America the Beautiful” to a spirited audience.
