A. Shuanise WashingtonA. Shuanise Washington has longstanding ties to CBCF.  She served as co-chair of the CBCF Board from 2010 to 2012, and as a board member from 2003 to 2009.

Ms. Washington is the Founder and Sole Principal of Washington Solutions, LLC, which provides business consulting services for small, medium and large businesses, governments and nonprofit organizations.  She is the former Vice President of Government Affairs, Policy & Outreach for Altria Corporate Services where her department served as the liaison between Altria’s federal and state government affairs groups and constituencies, to include public policy, legislative and business organizations and organizations that provide services and support to diverse U.S. communities.

In March of 2008, Ms. Washington retired to pursue her lifelong dream of entrepreneurship focused on business management and development as well as building bridges between the private and public sectors.  In July 2011, Ms. Washington was appointed by the Prince George’s County, Maryland County Executive as a Commissioner for the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission.

Ms. Washington earned a Bachelor of Science degree in humanities and social sciences from the

University of South Carolina, and a Cognate in mathematics.  Born in Columbia, South Carolina, Ms. Washington and her husband, Donald, currently reside in Mitchellville, Maryland.
