Emerging Leaders Series

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

The Emerging Leaders Series (ELS) began in 2004 as a special track of issue forums during the Annual Legislative Conference (ALC) designed to equip students and young professionals with legislative and advocacy tools to effect change in their communities. This track has become very popular, encouraging more and more young leaders to attend ALC.

Since its inception, the series has expanded to include signature events like the Young Leaders Networking Reception, the Black Party and the Instant Apprentice Luncheon.

Recognizing the ever growing need to engage young professionals, CBCF is working to expand ELS into a yearlong program. Beginning in 2009, the foundation aims to host a series of events and programs that will target younger constituents of Congressional Black Caucus member districts.
