The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) plays a very critical role in preparing and equipping young policy professionals and emerging leaders with the tools necessary for success in public service careers. Since 1976, CBCF has offered opportunities for early to mid-level professionals to work on Capitol Hill. Over 150 individuals have served as CBCF Congressional Fellows and many now have full-time positions on Capitol Hill, with federal agencies and in prominent public policy organizations. The foundation of their success rests with a solid understanding of the public policy process. CBCF provides a training ground to facilitate this understanding.

CBCF Congressional Fellows Program
targets early-career policy professionals who have completed a professional or graduate degree and have a demonstrated interest in public policy and public service. CBCF Fellows work on Capitol Hill in the office of a Congressional Black Caucus member.

CBCF Louis Stokes Urban Health Policy Fellows Program offers health policy professionals an invaluable, hands-on experience to be a part of the federal health policy-making process. The primary goal of the program is to increase the pool of qualified, minority health policy professionals who will work to eliminate health disparities in the United States and abroad. CBCF Louis Stokes Fellows work in a Congressional Black Caucus member’s office and on a congressional committee.
