Remembering Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones CBCF celebrates the life and legacy of U.S. Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, who died on Aug. 20, 2008 in Cleveland after representing the 11th Congressional District of Ohio. Rep. Tubbs Jones served on the Foundation’s board of directors and was chairwoman of the board’s nominating committee. She was also a co-chairwoman of CBCF’s annual Mervyn L. Jones Memorial Golf and Tennis Classic, which is named after her late husband. (PDF)
CBCF Attends Political Conventions
Avoice Launches Environmental Justice Exhibit Avoice: African Americans in Congress (www.avoiceonline.org), CBCF’s award-winning virtual online library, has launched a new digital-archive exhibit showcasing the influence and impact of black lawmakers in the environmental justice movement. The new exhibit features an introduction on the environmental justice movement, a summary of the CBC’s public advocacy on the issue, plus audio recordings, photographs and other digitized documents.
