“We all have a stake in the future of our country. Although more jobs are being brought back to our shores, millions of Americans remain crippled by the economy. Educational opportunities that provide the training and skills needed to work in emerging and innovative industries, such as high tech manufacturing and green technology, must be afforded to everyone. Cost prohibitive and limited access to educational opportunities from grade school to post graduate and vocational studies can no longer be the standard. Our elected officials must work together to put politics aside for the good our nation. We can no longer squander the economic wellbeing of Americans to the posturing of a few. We each have a voice. And in this election year, we must make our voices heard.” The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc., established in 1976, is a non-partisan, non-profit, public policy, research and educational institute intended to broaden and elevate the influence of African Americans in the political, legislative and public policy arenas. |
