Black Health Empowerment Project: Eat, Move and Test for Health!
Welcome to the Black Health Empowerment Project (BHEP). The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation is delighted to inform you of our obesity awareness and health promotion program now in its fifth year. Sponsored by AstraZeneca in 2009, BHEP is a community-oriented health initiative traveling the country to encourage African-American adults and youth to “Eat, Move and Test for Health!”
We invite you to explore our Web pages and then act to improve your individual and family's health by registering to attend a free BHEP event in or near your city. Awaiting you is a day of useful health tips, free screenings and interactive activities such as the following:
• Upbeat health sessions for the body, mind and spirit;
• A Health & Fitness Expo offering heart health, diabetes and other important tests and resources at no cost;
• An “Ask the Experts” zone featuring mini-consultations with knowledgeable and caring health professionals;
• Wellness activities tailored for men, women, seniors and children;
• A community fitness games competition (in select locations); and
• Great giveaways, entertainment and more.
CBCF's Black Health Empowerment Project events are free and open to the public. Join us for a memorable experience that shows you how tasty, enjoyable and accessible good health can be. Come ready to move and learn!
