It’s here! The first-ever National Racial Equity Initiative for Social Justice (NREI) Summit!

You might be wondering, “What exactly is this summit…and why should I attend?”

Well first—let’s talk about the NREI!

The National Racial Equity Initiative was established last year, as the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s (CBCF) pledge to bolster its work in advancing racial justice, combating systemic injustice, and increasing economic development opportunities for the Black community. The NREI is housed in our  Center for Policy Analysis and Research (CPAR) and focuses on cultivating a space for the development of research, programming, and proactive policies and practices that systematically and uniquely impact the Black community.

We recognize that we cannot do this work alone, and the road to addressing these systems of inequity involves the collective expertise and experience of social justice leaders, experts, and activists across the nation.

That brings us to the NREI Summit!

This Summit allows participants to learn and engage in conversations that intentionally examine critical social justice issues. We’re diving into the critical need for trauma-informed policymaking, calling out the bias that exists within the criminal justice system, and highlighting the next generation of social justice leaders to commemorate the legacy of late John R. Lewis.

And guess what? We’ve even curated a space (albeit virtual) that gives you a chance to participate! Following each session, you can join our optional “Let-Out” and Networking rooms to engage with other attendees in real-time to continue the conversation!

You really don’t want to miss it! We look forward to seeing you there and can’t wait to learn with you!
