Event Date: Nov 29, 2016. Written by CBCF#GivingTuesday is a global day dedicated to giving back that kicks off the charitable season by celebrating the true spirit of philanthropy.
This year, the CBCF will join the #GivingTuesday movement with Emerge 535. This initiative aims to place an African-American intern in all 535 Congressional member offices. Placing 535 future leaders on Capitol Hill will:
-Demonstrate commitment to diversity in all facets of public policy
-Expand academic, leadership, and professional development opportunities for emerging black leaders
-Equip students with professional experience in public service
-Provide students with first-hand leadership experience by working with seasoned leaders in Washington, DC
-Prepare students to be informed advocates who shape our world
The CBCF is making great strides towards this effort and with your help, we can realize this vision!
As we gear up for #GivingTuesday, “Give Us a 5!” in support of our young emerging leaders. By making a donation of just $5 or more on or by November 29, you help us increase African-American leaders throughout the halls of Congress, one intern at a time. As the timeless adage goes, it takes a village to raise a child, and every helping hand makes a difference. So please, “Give Us a 5!” because our future is in your hands.
