Deidra M. Barksdale
Chief Financial Officer
Deidra Barksdale is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc. (CBCF). Ms. Barksdale provides executive leadership and strategic counsel to support all facets of financial management. She is responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies for future programs and operations; new business opportunities; and related financial matters in accordance with the organization’s philosophy, mission, and strategic goals and objectives. Ms. Barksdale provides keen financial insight and analysis to support operations and administration to direct and predict future growth.
Prior to joining the CBCF, she was the Director of Financial Services at the United Negro College Fund (UNCF). At UNCF, she provided financial and analytical support to various programs including the Gates Millennium Scholars Program, a $1.6 billion initiative funded by a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; the UNCF STEM Scholars Program, a $20 million grant from the Fund II Foundation; as well as UNCF’s $50 million Career Pathways Initiative.
Ms. Barksdale is a Certified Public Accountant, and Chartered Global Management Accountant with more than 28 years of business experience. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Howard University. Ms. Barksdale is a member of the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc.; the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; and the Greater Washington Society of CPA’s. She is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and serves as co-treasurer for a District of Columbia Public Schools middle school.
