1. How much is the financial award of each scholarship?
Performing Arts: $3,000 per student for up to 10 students
Visual Arts: $3,000 per student for up to 10 students -
2. Do the scholarship awards cover one academic year or only one semester?
The scholarship award is disbursed once a year. Two winners will be invited to perform at the Annual Celebration of Leadership in the Fine Arts in September. This is star studded evening that recognizes exceptional leaders within the fine arts community who actively share their creative body of work and real world expertise. Past recipients include Riley ‘B.B.’ King, Phylicia Rashad, the O’Jays, Maxwell, Misty Copeland, Quincy Jones, etc.

3. How do I renew my scholarship?
This scholarship is not renewable; you must submit an application for consideration each year.

4. Can I apply for the CBC Spouses Performing Arts Scholarship or CBC Spouses Visual Arts Scholarship, even if my district is not represented by a member of the Congressional Black Caucus?
You must be a constituent of a CBC member’s district to be eligible for the CBC Spouses Performing Arts Scholarship and CBC Spouses Visual Arts Scholarship.
