Cody West is a native Houstonian. Mr. West’s interests are tax and finance. Mr. West earned his undergraduate degree from Texas State University, and his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center. While in law school, Mr. West gained financial and legal experience with financial firm Merrill Lynch, the University of Houston’s Entrepreneurship and Community Development Legal Clinic and the U.S. Attorney’s Office. During his time with Merrill Lynch and UH’s Entrepreneurship and Community Development Legal Clinic, Mr. West assisted private companies in raising capital, navigating the regulatory environment and structuring transactions for the sale and purchase of securities/assets. In addition, Mr. West served as the president of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) during his second year of law school. In this role, he raised more than $5,500 from Houston-based international law firms to sponsor BLSA activities.
