Michael Taylor

Michael Taylor is a political savant and legal scholar. He has a passion for both public policy and the law. Michael received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Oakwood University in 2017 and received his Juris Doctorate from from Howard University School of Law in May of 2021.

While at Howard Law, Michael served in the Howard Law Environmental Justice Center where he conducted research regarding disparities in the allocation of funding by the Maryland Department of the Environment for watershed projects in communities of color. Michael also served in the Howard Law Human and Civil Rights Clinic in which he co-authored an amicus brief on behalf of defendant, DeRay McKesson, in 5th Circuit case Doe v. McKesson that was filed before the U.S. Supreme Court. During his 3L summer, Michael interned virtually for the Chief Counsel’s Office of the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Science and conducted legal research for the office and wrote legal memorandums on behalf of staff attorneys. Michael is also the host of the platform, “The Political Mike”, which airs weekly on Facebook and Youtube. Through this platform, Michael engages people, particularly young people, in conversations centered on public policy, politics and global affairs.
