The full award is disbursed once for the academic year directly to the recipient.

Yes. You must be a constituent of a Congressional Black Caucus Member by residing in or attending a high school within their district to be eligible for the CBC Spouses Essay Contest.

The CBC Spouses Essay Contest award is not renewable. Each year eligibility requirements must be met along with the submission of an application and required documents.

Yes. The selected recipients are invited to attend the CBCF Annual Legislative Conference to participate in a panel discussion with other distinguished guests. *The panel discussion during the CBCF Annual Legislative Conference will be conducted virtually in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
