Sarah Wing is a Philadelphia native who graduated from Goucher College in 2019. She majored in Political Science with a double minor in African Studies and Women/Gender studies. During her studies in college, Sarah dedicated her passion to the protection of survivors of sexual assault. Sarah served as a peer educator for Goucher College’s Title IX coordinator where she educated students on how identities such as race, gender, and sexuality impact potential victims of assault. Sarah furthered this interest in gender-based violence by studying abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark, where she conducted legal research on the decriminalization of prostitution and its potential impact on migrant workers in Scandinavia. In continuation of her passion for gender and race-based equity, Sarah went on to obtain her Juris Doctor from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law. While obtaining her law degree, she served as the Vice President of the Villanova Law Students Against Sexual Violence where she advocated for victims of assault on campus, implemented reform of the Title IX policy, and conducted feminine product drives for local domestic violence shelters. Sarah was also a legal extern for the Commercial Exploitation Institute where she worked tirelessly on obtaining clemency for wrongfully imprisoned victims of sex trafficking. Sarah worked for the National Women’s Law Center, focusing on Title IX reform and gender equity for transgender athletes. Sarah has also externed for Pennsylvania Representative Joanna McClinton. Sarah also served on the executive board of the Black Law Student Association.
