As an enterprising and dedicated leader, Tyler Johnson has continuously exhibited her commitment to innovation and advocacy throughout her academic and professional career. While earning her Masters of Public Policy from Georgetown University, she became one of seven Tech & Public Policy Scholars, garnering research on the integration of technology, particularly artificial intelligence, within the justice sector. She simultaneously studied abroad in Milan, Italy at Bocconi University, gaining an international perspective on the impact of emerging technologies, as well as diverse approaches to cybersecurity laws and defense strategies. A highlight of her work was authoring her thesis, where she conducted statistical and regression analysis to identify differences in individuals’ detection accuracy when interfacing with deepfake technology.
Tyler has further explored her interests in technology policy through various research assistantships, fellowships, rigorous coursework, and active involvement in student organizations throughout her matriculation. The marketing and graphic design skills she acquired through her B.B.A. at Howard University complements her extensive public policy background, demonstrating her diverse professional skillset. Serving as a CBCF Fellow within the office of Congresswoman Valerie Foushee, Tyler continues to expand her policy expertise across key sectors, including technology, environmental innovation, and aerospace/aviation. Driven by her passion for technology policy, Tyler aspires to pursue her Juris Doctorate to better advocate for digital equity and online protections.
