WASHINGTON – “The CBCF family and I are deeply saddened and devastated by the unexpected death of my dear friend and chief of staff to Congressman Al Green, Jacqueline A. Ellis. I will always be grateful for her counsel, dedication, knowledge and sense of humor.

”Jacqui embodied the spirit of public service and was driven by a steadfast commitment to help others. Her vast knowledge of the issues combined with a career spanning nearly 30 years on Capitol Hill made her an invaluable leader.

She was enormously respected by members of the Congressional Black Caucus, and members on both sides of the aisle for her intellect, integrity and institutional knowledge. She was beloved by many for her wit, kind spirit and generosity.
