WASHINGTON—A. Shuanise Washington, president and CEO of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Incorporated (CBCF), released the following statement on the horrific massacre in Orlando, FL today.

“As the world mourns for the innocent victims of today’s horrific massacre in Orlando, our thoughts and prayers are with the families, friends and communities of these victims—whose lives were claimed by this senseless act of violence. This abhorrent crime is an assault on our nation’s democratic way of life, and the values and freedoms that we share. At the CBCF, we remain committed to the values and freedoms that make America great.”
